Job Title: Blast Chiller Operative
Responsible to: Team Leader / Team Manager
Main Role:
Safely and efficiently cool hot products to required temperatures, monitor temperatures, maintain records, and ensure food safety in a clean, safe workspace.
Main Duties:
- Switch the blast chiller on and off as needed.
- Operate the blast chiller to cool products according to guidelines and monitor temperatures hourly to meet CCPs.
- Report any temperature deviations to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Weigh empty trolleys and full trolleys containing products
- Transfer hot products from cooking to the blast chiller, hot pack area, or emulsifying in shapes department.
- Move cooled products to the WIP chiller for storage and packing.
- Assist in blending food products, including texture-modified one, as per specifications.
- Weigh empty trolleys and full trolleys containing products, recording data as required to monitor and report product loss during the chilling process.
- Maintain accurate records for cooling and blending activities.
- Ensure the blast chiller and blending stations are clean and organised, following food safety and hygiene standards.
- Handle allergen-containing products carefully to prevent cross-contamination.
- Report any equipment issues, non-conformances, or incidents immediately.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the blast chiller and equipment.
- Be flexible to assist in other departments as needed.
- Undertake required training, including CCP and food safety.

Shift Pattern:
Friday - 7am to 4pm (30-minute unpaid break)
Saturday – 7am to 4pm (30-minute unpaid break)

17 hours per week
